Your Addo Game Drive will depart from The Happy Jackal (after a scrumptious breakfast) at about 8a.m. Snacks and refreshments are carried on board the vehicle, as are Ponchos and Blankets for those draughty days. A mid-morning halt at Jack’s picnic site gives you the chance to stretch your legs and for the ladies to visit the Rest room. By lunch time you will be ready for your packed lunch at the Main Camp where you can also browse around the Addo Gift Shop and visit the Education Centre.
During the afternoon return trip, keep a sharp look-out for those animals you missed in the morning. Perhaps you’ll be lucky to spot the lions who may be starting to get hungry! Late afternoon you will return to the Happy Jackal for a welcome cooling down in the swimming pool and a chilled beer.

Beautiful place!! - Spacious and comfortable house - Kindly waited for us to check in after-hours - Very nice breakfast with the most delicious homemade bread (baked every morning) and homemade jams by the owners - Made us feel very welcome - Very close to Addo Park.
We had a spacious and bright room with an outside balcony facing the Sundays River. Large comfortable bed and good breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Happy Jackal. Firstly, the breakfast was incredibly delicious: What we love most was the fresh, self-baked bread with the different homemade jams. (You should taste them all). The location is excellent: Within 3 minutes you can reach the Addo Elephant Park. The owners are incredibly lovely. Breakfast is served in person. Everyone can offer you some great advice about all the different activities you can do in that area. In general, they also attach great value on freshness and sustainability. The Lodge Manageress welcomed us and was truly friendly and their own ranger took us on a tour into Addo with their Open Game Viewer and made sure we saw most of the animals we were wanting to see. All was just wonderful and the rest of the staff. Thank you for a great stay!
